What is a Celebrant?
A celebrant is an independent person who can provide you with a custom made ceremony designed to celebrate what is special to you. This is free of any restrictions. The only limitation is your imagination. If you want everyone to dress as trees while you and your partner are doves landing on the guests' arms, then I'm down for that.
Is a Celebrant Wedding Ceremony legally binding?
No. You'll need to register your marriage in a Register Office before or after your celebrant wedding ceremony in order to make your marriage legally binding. You can do this at any time, it's completely your choice.
We don’t want to legalise our marriage, is that allowed?
Yes, that's absolutely fine. A Celebrant Wedding Ceremony is all about your love and commitment. It's a special day all about you and that gorgeous person you want to squeeze forever.
Will my Celebrant Wedding Ceremony feel less special if it's not legally binding?
Signing the register is simply signing the legal paperwork. The big event is having all your family and friends there to celebrate the next chapter of your life. To feel the passion and excitement and declare why you have chosen to commit to each other as partners for life. If anything, a celebrant can make it more special as they are free of restrictions.
Do you offer Same-Sex Weddings?
Damn right! Trans and mans, non-binary and cis, whatever your love combination I'm here to embrace everything you.
Does it matter what culture, faith or religion I am?
Not one bit. That's the beauty of being a celebrant, I can include any culture, faith or religion into the ceremony. I personally love meeting couples and seeing how their faith can be entwined.
Where can I hold my Wedding Ceremony?
Anywhere you want as long as you have permission. You can have it in your lounge, in a cinema, in a hotel, on a beach, in the sea, at the park, on ice, up a mountain, up a tree, at the zoo, on the train...I think you get the idea.
Can I include the family pet in my ceremony?
Bring along whatever you like, as long as the place you've booked allows it.
Can I include readings and poems in my ceremony?
Yes, the more personal you can make it the better. This is your day, this also means if you have a family member or friend that would like to say a few words then let's get them involved.
Should I write my own wedding vows?
If you want to or I can help. It's great idea to write them separately from each other, that way it captures the pure emotion of the day.
I want the ceremony to be totally us, is that ok?
That's what I want too. I can't say it enough, the feel of the day is what you want it to be. Forget what anyone else might think, be bold, be sentimental, be silly, after all that's what being in love is all about!!
How far are you willing to travel to assist with our ceremony?
I'm based in East Sussex, near Brighton and happy to travel up to 1.5 hours . Anything further afield may have a travel expense added. Drop me a message to see if we can figure something out.
